It's Complicated Part 4 - Marriage

My beautiful bride, Rachel, joined me this week at XLM to talk about the very important subject of marriage and preparing for God's best.

Together we answered all of the questions that we received during this series on the subject of marriage.  You can view the message

Rachel and I shared from our experience of dating and preparing for marriage together. We are excited about sharing with our students that

It's Complicated Part 3 - Lust & Porn

This week we talked about the extremely important topic of pornography and its destructive impact.  It may have been uncomfortable for some, but this is such a necessary discussion for the church to have.  God's word has a lot to say on the topic of lust.

I feel particularly burdened for so many of our young men and women because I know a great deal of them are enslaved to a prison of porn and lust and don't know where to turn for help.  Many of them carry this problem with them without anyone ever knowing because it's such a shameful

It's Complicated Part 2 - Sex

This week at XLM we continued in our series on relationships and dating.  We covered the topic of sex and sexual purity.  You can view the message here.

We covered a variety of questions surrounding the topic of sex.  Why did God create sex?  Who is it for?  What is God's plan for sex and sexual relationships?  What if I've sinned in the past in this area?  How far is too far physically?

It's Complicated Part 1 - Dating

We're off to a great start with our series on relationships!  We kicked off the series this Sunday by looking at the topic of dating.  You can view this week's message here

We had a great response to the message with the questions turned in afterward.  I'm so impressed with our students and their insightful questions. Of the dozens of questions turned in, most of them are very thoughtful and go beyond the surface of the typical dating series youth group question which is, "How far is too far?"

Here are a few categories of questions we received: Christians dating non-Christians; marriage and preparing for marriage; sex and sexual purity; friendships; parents and families; age and when to start dating; and how to have a godly relationship.

In the coming weeks of the series we will answer the majority of these questions in the topics we'll cover.  The last week of the series we are dedicating fully to answering the remaining questions.  Pray for us as we tackle these important topics!

To my XLM students:  keep turning in questions, keep bringing your friends, and keep an open mind to what God has to teach you through this series.
